The Element DJ Setup

In all its glory! Our carefully constructed rig with custom DJ booth. It’s intended to look great, sound great and delivers everything you could need from a Wedding DJ Setup.

We wanted the perfect combination of “sweet, wedding-y,” and “slick, VIP, Ibiza sunset lounge”.

This setup looks great spaced out or close together, lending itself well to any sized venue. We’ve omitted tripods and overhead lighting fixtures entirely, resulting in a much cleaner look.

We designed the booth ourselves and commissioned a local metal fabricator to build three of them. They dismantle into three parts, allowing for quick setups and packdowns. Our DJ decks fit flush into the top section, hiding all cables inside.

We added some LED downlighting as a nice finishing touch!

Personally, we’re a bit tired of the standard star-cloth booth and plastic facades. We thought it was time to change things up a bit. There’s no hiding with this booth - it lets you see the DJ mixing the whole night.

Next we have our 8,000 Watt (4,000W RMS) full range active sound system complete with subwoofers. Subs are really important. You just can’t get that deep, warm bass from top speakers alone. Sometimes you need to feel the music in your feet and chest, especially for Dance/EDM.

This isn’t to say it’s always going to be bass heavy - we set the EQ and volume appropriately for your guests and music tastes. For venues with a sound limiter, we can simply turn the subs down.

Now onto lighting!

We have pixel bars (perched between the speakers, nicely hiding the speaker poles). These are great lights - they offer a huge array of colours and brightnesses, and produce the best crowd strobe effect.

Then we have the lighting pillars. These are a neat alternative to metal trussing columns because they look less industrial. When you put an uplighter inside, the white fabric covering is entirely illuminated in that colour, making them a lighting feature in themselves.

Sitting atop is our mini moving head lights. These provide a nice spotlight for first dance photos and do all sorts of crazy things throughout the night.

All our lighting is DMX controlled, meaning we can tell the lights what to do with our iPad. The colour, brightness and position of all the lights are in our control. Selecting appropriate settings for your first dance and even different genres of music is really important.

Photographers love us because we always check in with them before the first dance. They can let us know what lighting works best for them, so they can get the perfect shots for you.

If you have a colour scheme you’d like us to adhere to, no problem! We can dial in the exact shade on the night and save it as a preset (takes just a few seconds.)
